Very Good. Exterior shows shelf wear with moderate rubbing to the head and foot of the spine and to the corners; front cover moderately cupped, rear cover cupped to a lesser degree; rear cover with large white mark. Gilt tarnished and has lost some luster. Text block sound, hinges secure. Scattered foxing; text generally clean throughout, with no writing or markings found. A 2-inch closed edge tear to the title page of the Part I: History section. Faint old-book odor noted. Laid in greeting card very good, unmarked.
Scarce wartime cruise book, privately printed for distribution to USS Nevada's crew only and never commercially sold. Documents the full career of the "Cheer Up Ship" — the only battleship to get underway during the Pearl Harbor attack, later a fixture of the Normandy invasion, and ultimately an atomic-bomb target vessel at Bikini.
