Condition

Lacking final leaf, p. 313/314. Spine tips, corners, and edges rubbed with light fading; cloth lightly soiled. Evidence of removed bookplate with damage to front pastedown, otherwise interior clean and unmarked. Binding secure and square; no cracked hinges or loose pages. Fair.

Contents

Two distinct settings of this title are recorded. Wright III 2205 (288pp., illustrated) and Paher 711 (314pp., unillustrated) conform to two separate editions; the present copy follows Paher. Priority not established. The two settings are further distinguished by binding design — Greek key (314pp.) and trellis (288pp.). Additionally, two title page states are known within the Greek-key setting: a horseshoe ornament (present copy) and a foliate ornament.
